The four session assessment is to determine therapeutic fit, scope of practice and competency.
One of the reasons I do a four session assessment is to determine if it doesn't feel like a good fit and to determine if your case is within my scope of practice and competency. If this is the case, I am happy to provide outside referrals. My goal is get you the most effective treatment for you, whether it is with myself or an alternative. -
Clinical Information is not provided to any outside parties except in 5 situations; child abuse, elder abuse, dependent adult abuse (physical, sexual abuse or negligence will be reported to appropriate authorities) danger to yourself (if you are suicidal my first concern is safety, emergency contacts will be contacted to ensure care and safety), danger to others (if you or a member of your family plans on harming someone I am legally obligated to contact local authorities.
Other Area of discussion; Release of Information to ancillary support such as doctor or psychiatrist to receive comprehensive treatment. -
