About Me
Briana Yedalian, M.A. LMFT #137449
My name is Briana, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I earned a Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, and a Bachelors in Psychology from Woodbury University. After years of working in nonprofit organizations and a group private practice, I’m here to apply all the knowledge in the room and continuously learn more along the way.
Working with me
Working with a therapist can feel scary, that’s why my initial goal in the room is to create a safe, comfortable space where the focus is on building relationships with clients. It’s these close relationships that lead to trusting, collaborative and powerful therapy environments. Sometimes reflecting on our past can be difficult, I set the pace of the process specific to your readiness. In addition to proving a safe holding environment, my style is super authentic; I bring warmth, humor, even pop culture references and you’ll likely see my dog Lola pop in the background at times.
PS Pets are encouraged to join you in session if you need them and aren’t distracting you.
A Modern Approach
It is essential that clients get personalized suggestions based on around your needs. This is a collaborative relationship made up of honesty, authenticity and open-mindedness. As a modern clinician, my approach is eclectic. I use a variety of tools and orientations that work for you, not the other way around. Some of these approaches can include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and client centered focused. Assisting with communication skills, assertiveness training, developing healthy coping strategies, creating healthy boundaries, and highlighting strengths for clients to gain their insight.
